Blue Millefiore Heart Earrings

Everyone needs a break from circles, right?
These are sterling silver and millefiore ('thousand flower') glass heart earrings.
The blue is a cross between a navy and a cobalt, I'd say, and the flowers are primarily blue and white. Maybe I should've posted them on the 4th of July? The beads are approximately 7/8 in. wide in either direction.
I've just listed them at my Etsy shop, if you want to go and take a look.

Price: $10.

red

Well, well, well, I have finally made my first Etsy sale to a stranger!

Though in truth, the buyer isn't QUITE a stranger. She and I are both members of the same network--the Philly Etsy Team. But still, a sale is a sale!

The buyer heard about my shop through my free giveaway--check my last blog entry for information and a link to the contest. I'll be packing up these earrings in red and sending them out this week!

Iris 3 Coins in the Fountain Necklace

We've had a lot of blue and green of late, so I thought I'd mix it up with purple.

Purple is my friend Heather's favorite color and I'd like to give her a little shout out here.
Not that she's reading my blog right now, of course--Heather just had a baby, yesterday!
Chloe Jean was born at 3.22 pm on Saturday, weighing in at a lovely 6 lbs and 8 oz!
Congratulations to Heather and her husband Ed on the birth of their first child.

Iris 3 Coins in the Fountain Czech Glass and Sterling Silver Necklace: $38.

Recent Philly Etsy Team Meeting

The Philly Etsy Team meets once a month at a gallery in South Philadelphia. I attended the last meeting, and met a lot of wonderful and talented women. Here's a shot of the group:

If you search for me, I'm sure you'll find me. Think: the back of someone's curly, curly head (and, you can see that I volunteered to record the minutes for the meeting).

Handmade in PA

I'd like to direct your attention to a new website called Handmade in PA. Do you happen to see a certain familiar pair of earrings?

The site is run by a lovely woman named Tara and here's her raison d'etre (don't know how to make a circonflex!), taken from her site:

Handmade in PA seeks to be the premiere site for bringing Pennsylvania artisans & shoppers together. We feature interviews, host giveaways, publish tutorials, and offer business & shopping advice - all in the name of supporting the handmade movement in Pennsylvania. We are always looking for guest contributors and hosts for giveaways.

Tara has created a Valentine's Day Gift Guide. Take a look!

Orange/Fuschia Coin Glass and Sterling Silver Earrings

When I think orange and fuschia together, I think of just 1 person: my dear friend Angie. I made these earrings with her in mind.

They're now available at my Etsy shop. Take a look.

Nancy Pelosi, Jr.?

Take a look at future Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's new necklace:

Does it remind you of the Nancy Pelosi pix I posted a few months ago? Looks to me like Clinton bought herself a little didn't-win-the-nomination prezzie! And it looks beautiful on her. Then again, that necklace would look beautiful on a shoe. And not even a nice shoe. Just a house slipper.

Zebra Glass and Sterling Silver Bracelet

And, the matching bracelet. I used a bunch of the square beads, a bunch of the little black glass rounds, a sterling silver lobsterclaw clasp, and some love.

A lot of love, actually. Interestingly, the man who bought this (on the first night of the sale, I'll add) also bought a picture frame (from another artist) that looked to be done in a black and white zebra print. I would imagine that he has a woman in his life who is crazy about the animal prints, right?

Price: $18.

Zebra Glass and Sterling Silver Earrings

A pair of earrings readied and tagged for sale.

The square beads have a white core drizzled with black and measure just over 1/2 inch in both height and width. They are accented with a small round black bead. Small and sweet and a little bit wild, because they look rather like an animal print. All metals are sterling silver.

Price: $10.

Rhodonite and Obsidian Necklace

The necklace on the left is a mix of Obsidian and Rhodonite. I really like this freeform pendant. It's a one-of-a-kind, obviously, and I was sorry to give it up.
I used the Obsidian to highlight the black in the Rhodonite pendant. Rhodonite is a rosy pink stone though it can, as it is here, be mottled with black. I've paired 12x16mm ovals with 10mm black Obsidian rounds, and linked them with sterling silver.
This necklace sold during the UCAL sale as well, though I no longer have any definitive memory of when. The first week, I think...

Price: $38.

Obsidian/Snowflake Obsidian/Matrix Jasper Necklace

To go back a few posts...

This is the Obsidian and Snowflake Obsidian necklace with the Matrix Jasper round pendant.

I used 8mm round Snowflake Obsidian beads--they are a shiny black with patches of white, along with 10mm Obsidian beads, strung together with thick sterling silver.
The pendant measures 40mm in diameter and is grey in color, with streaks of black throughout. It complements the obsidian beads even though it's a different type of stone. It's finished with a lobsterclaw clasp. This necklace sold during the sale.

Price: $40.
