Metallic Stick and Potato Pearl Earrings

Bad photos, but it is what it is, as they say. And as I say.

These earrings match the necklace I blogged about a few days back. I used copper stick pearls and mixed them with plantinum and silver round potato pearls. All metals are sterling silver

And my good friend Heather bought them!

Price: $12.

Metallic Stick and Potato Pearl Necklace

I love stick pearls.

I bought a strand of copper stick pearls at a recent gemstone sale, and decided to mix them with some metallic (silver, champagne, bronze and platinum) potato pearls that I already had in my stash of beads.

Price: $42.

Rainbow Fluorite and Amethyst Necklace

So here's the rest of my recent creation:

I really like rainbow fluorite. It comes in shades of purple (both lilac and deep grape), green (both mint and sage), and sometimes blue. And the best part is that each stone isn't necessarily uniform in color. You find a lot of striations. The nugget next to the clasp illustrates this feature well.

I strung together nuggets (approx 3/4 in. long) of fluorite, separated by rondelles of amethyst, and then added the amethyst disc pendant.

I find that the colors that naturally occur together in nature always look great displayed together.

Someone else agreed with me; this piece sold during the Arts League Holiday Sale.

Price: $52

MOMMY WANT

Ooh, I like:

But it's out of stock! This is a silver Karen Hill tribe handmade pendant with a loop on the back through which I'd thread something, to make it wearable.

I hope my vendor gets more of them in, before I make the mistake of building my entire summer wardrobe around the thing!*

*only partially kidding.

Still More Amethyst

So, now that I've shown you one thing that I did with the big discs of amethyst that I bought last year, I wanted to show you another.

Here's a shot of a second necklace that I made, using the purple stone:

Amethyst, Rose Quartz and Freshwater Pearl Necklace

I love this necklace. Do I say that about all of my pieces? I hope not, but I'm too lazy to go back and look.

I started with the focal piece of this necklace--the amethyst disc. I knew I wanted to mix it with some pastels and make as dainty a piece as one can make with such an amazing pendant!

I mixed together small rounds of rose quartz, creamy ivory rice freshwater pearls and small tumbled chunks of amethyst. All metals are sterling silver.

I'm sad to sell it--I've gotten lots of compliments on it. It's perfect for Easter, and matches the amethyst disc earrings I already blogged about a few entries back.

Price: $32.

Mayor Sara Knows How to Accessorize!

And now, we get to the heart of the exciting, exciting matter: MAYOR SARA PRESLER WORE MY NECKLACE TO AN OFFICIAL MAYORAL RACE EVENT!

Last week, there was a mayoral campaign debate between Mayor Sara (yay!) and her 2 opponents (*shoulder shrug*). I am sure her opponents are nice people, but they did not wear my jewelry, so they are no longer important in this story.

Here is the Mayor on the night of the debate:

And here she is getting briefed on the debate instructions:

More photos of the Mayor in action to come.
